Helping the Shahbaz family
The below is from Tracey Chessum, Amy’s cousin…

So…YOU WANT TO SERVE?
I spoke to Phil this afternoon and he shared a very sobering thought: 80% of boys are cured of ALL – of the other 20%, most do not succumb to the Leukemia, but to infection. The chemo is killing the cancer, but it also trying to kill Jordan’s immune system.
Therefore, until further notice – the Shahbaz house is a VISITOR-FREE ZONE!
I know that this is a big change for many of their friends and family – Phil & Amy definitely have the gift of hospitality, which many of us have benefited from – but, it is SO NECESSARY to protect Jordan. And, imagine how their situation is compounded by 3 other 2 1/2 year olds that HAVE to remain germ-free as well! There just isn’t any wiggle room for accidental exposure to any virus, bacteria, etc! That being said – due to the restrictions on visitors, at this point, they have made the decision to have the little ones cared for by a handful of specific family members.
However, Shauntel Raymond and Monica Lucero will be coordinating meals for the family starting later this week. If you would like to provide a meal, go to Life Bible Fellowship and know these great women, please contact them directly. If you don’t know Shauntel or Monica – send me (Tracey) a message and I will pass their information on to you. They are both committed to making sure that meals are provided for the Shahbaz family without any compromises to Jordan’s germ-free zone – so they will share with you the specifics of meal delivery, etc. We are asking that everyone be vigilant and take responsibility for protecting this little one!
In the coming weeks, we will try to identify other ways people can serve. It’s just too early to know what will they will need. We will update as needs arise.
This is going to be a huge adjustment for the whole family. Please be patient as they adjust to a new schedule and find a new normal. Phil & Amy (Pa, Grammy, Teta, Great Grandparents, Uncles, etc) continue to say how encouraged they are by your messages – it is still too early for phone calls, but that will come in time as well. I know that they will respond to all of you in time.
Thank you all for your continued faithfulness in praying for Jordan.

We are here to help the Shahbaz family with anything they need. While we cannot supply meals at this time, we are able to help in other ways. Diligently Praying!
