Talking
Jesse and Noah have been verbal for quite a while now, but we are finally hearing them say words at the appropriate times. They have three words now, both of them are saying the same three: hi, bye, and hot. I’m sure you understand why hi and bye (with waving) since those are words that they hear a lot with people always coming and going and can therefore say them in context, but hot? I guess we use hot a lot more that you would think. Hot food, hot water, hot stove, hot fireplace—all things that we warn them about repeatedly. Every time I take Noah to wash his hands he says hot.
They’re also really good at making animal sounds like meow, woof, baah, and the like when we ask them what certain animals say. They’re favorite animal sounds are for rocket and airplane. I’ll try to get a video of them doing their noises and post it.
Here’s a photo Rachel’s mom took of them during her last visit. I have no idea how she got them to pose together. Maybe they’re sitting on something. Feel free to post your ideas or caption suggestions in the comments.
