Travel day

We took the TVG (high speed train) from Paris to Kaiserslautern today where my brother Alex and his wife Sunyoung live – the boys enjoyed a movie en route. Uncle Alex picked us up at the train station and after getting settled in, we went to the Kaiserslautern Christmas market. The boys went on their first ferris wheel, the grown-ups enjoyed Gluhbier and raclette. Yum!

After all the bread, cheese, Nutella, and fried potatoes we’ve been eating, we are going to need some serious green roughage, and soon.

Natural History and chocolat chaud

Today was our last full day in Paris. We went to the Natural History Museum and saw amazing stones, gems, and ores, and then toured prehistoric fossils and dinosaur bones. Truly a highlight for all of us. Perhaps only outdone by the chocolate cake and hot cocoas we had for dinner. La vie á Paris!

We are tired, but inspired, and oh so ready to see Alex and Sunyoung tomorrow. Off to Germany!

T-Rex! (It’s actually an Allosaurus, but Noah disagreed. Vehemently. Tomato, tomahto, right?)

Notre Dame, Louvre, and Tuileries

We did a good bit of wandering around famous places today, but of course the highlights for the boys were the trampolines at the Jardin des Tuileries and the frites at the café. Le Tour Eiffel is spectacular at night in the fog, and I love how you can see it from almost anywhere in the city.

Noah and Jesse put their arms up in every picture because they think it’s funny to pretend they are holding up the building behind them. They never get tired of the joke. Therefore, neither do I.
